What Is Facial Thirds?
Leonardo da Vinci divided the face into three equal parts: from the hairline to the brow line (eyebrows), from the eyebrows to the bridge of the nose, and from the bridge of the nose to the chin.
The Power of the Facial Thirds
The rule of thirds can impact the perception of one's facial features, but there are ways to alter facial balance. For example, through makeup, wearing glasses, choosing a hairstyle, shaping eyebrows, and more.

How to Soften the Lower Third of the Face?
The core logic lies in using the visual concepts of "verticality" and "horizontality" to adjust each area. If an area is too long, we add horizontal lines to shorten it; if it's too short, we enhance the sense of verticality to extend it.

Upper Section
If too long: Use bangs to directly cover it, or increase the volume on both sides of the head. In makeup, apply contour powder on the upper edge of the forehead or thicken the eyebrows.
If too short: It is recommended to choose a hairstyle that can increase the height of the crown. During makeup, use highlighter in the center of the forehead.

Middle Section
If too long: Suggest applying blush horizontally (across the bridge of the nose and cheeks), and enhance the lower eyeliner and lower lashes to shift the eye focus downwards.
If too short: apply blush vertically on the sides of the face.

Lower Section
If too long: It is suitable to add a shadow in the center of the upper lip (shorten the visual length of the upper lip), and moderately overlap lipsticks to increase the thickness of the lips.
If too short: Avoid over-expanding the lips. During makeup, vertical highlighting can be done around the lips and chin.
